The state of Goiás has a modern system of agricultural production, ranking 4th in the national ranking of grain production in the country, with corn, soybeans, tomatoes, sugarcane, cotton, sorghum and sunflower. With tropical climate, fertile soil, flat lands and abundant water, the state has an excellent agricultural productivity, which makes it competitive nationally and internationally.

LIVESTOCK

Goiás stands out nationally in the breeding of beef cattle in confinement, which is intensive in technology. Livestock farming in Goiás is important economically, accounting for 10% of national cattle breeding and milk production and 5% of hog rearing, chickens and egg production. The abundance of grain in the state favors the development of intensive animal husbandry. This process takes place through a partnership between agricultural producers and the agroindustry (integrated production system), with the aim of increasing competitiveness through reduction of transaction costs, production and logistics, which has resulted in the installation of important agro-processing industries.
